Hi! My name is Dr. Chad Hilmo and I am your Sacramento Fitness Series (SFS) Race Director. Having earned my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy and having an extensive background working with kids and youth, I am passionate about helping our younger generation to engage in activities and increase their own health and well-being. Working within the Sacramento Community to build this fitness series, I want to strengthen that commitment to them for them! When I studied abroad and attended Coventry University in England for my undergraduate in Occupational Therapy (OT), I completed a dissertation on the topic, ‘Running: Its impact on individual lives’. From individuals, including mothers, who only began running as a way to do something for themselves to more avid runners who had run throughout their lives, I discovered how running helped each of them in many similar and different ways. They all had a unique story and reason for running and it impacted them for the better. I want to help create those experiences and continue them for you! The great thing about running is that as long as you have shoes strapped on your feet, you can walk out your front door and the freedom to go is always there! Join me at our first race, October 20, 2018, as we get together as runners, friends, family and a healthier, stronger community! I look forward to meeting you and seeing you at future events.
Here’s what our runners are saying.
“Fun, good giveaways, good team support and family friendly event.”
“There was plenty of helpful staff to guide us through our race. An abundance of water stations. I thought this event was very well organized.”
“Great job with labeling the course and having people direct runners. Really love the price of the run as well.”
Whether you’re a longtime racer or first-time runner, the Sacramento Fitness Series is for you. We have a 5K (3.1 miles), a 10K (6.2 miles) and a Kids Dash. It’s a family-friendly event and everyone is welcome! A portion of the net proceeds from the series benefits BBMJ and the Boys & Girls Club of America (Sacramento Chapter).
Who Should Attend
No matter where you are at fitness-wise, we can all improve. That’s why we have created this low-cost, supportive and fun race series. Many people have found that they need a goal to look forward to in order to stay motivated. We hold quarterly events so that you can compare your times from race to race and see your improvement. Come run with us!
Don’t miss out! Prices increase at midnight on 1/6. If you are not sure you can make it, check out our postponement policy below.
Our charity partners for this event are BBMJ and the Boys & Girls Club of America (Sacramento Chapter). Your participation in this race will directly benefit their kid’s fitness programs, keeping them healthy and active all year long. Forty percent of the net proceeds will be split between these two outstanding charities.
Do you offer postponements? Yes! If you contact the Race Director before race day, we will create a discount code (within 5 business days) which you can use to purchase a ticket for a future race. The discount will be for 100% of the cost so you won’t have to pay anything even if the price goes up. You will have to use this discount within 12 months or it will expire.
